I noticed this Hummingbird Hawkmoth nectaring on my English Lavender. They are so visually striking with their coral orange rear wings and grey cigar-barrel shapes.
I do so wonder if this is a “homegrown” hawkmoth as we have three of its caterpillar host plants growing in the meadow. My Red Valerian is established at long last and Hedge and Ladies Bedstraws are both doing well in parts of the meadow.
